Privacy Policy
Last updated 18 October 2026
In short: we keep what you add so the site can plan your trips. We don't sell your information, we don't use advertising or tracking cookies, and your trips are private unless you choose to share or publish them. You can delete your account, and everything in it, at any time.
1. Who we are
Travel Star Media ("we", "us") is a trip planner and travel creator website at travelstarmedia.com, run by a family in Queensland, Australia. If you have any question about your information, email us at hello@travelstarmedia.com.
2. What we collect
Your account
- Your email address and password. Passwords are stored scrambled (hashed) by our sign-in provider; we can never see them.
- If you turn on two-step sign-in, the setup for your authenticator app.
Your trips and plans
- Everything you add: destinations, dates, flights, stays, cruises, activities, addresses, confirmation numbers, costs, notes, and who paid for what.
- Who's travelling: the number of adults and the ages of any children, used to fill in guests and tickets.
- Booking emails, PDFs, screenshots and cruise itineraries you choose to paste or upload, so they can be read for you (see section 4). We don't keep the pasted email itself, only the plans you choose to add.
Sharing
- The names and email addresses of people you share a trip with.
Your creator page (only if you make one)
- Your display name, page address, bio, profile picture, links to your other channels (Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, X, Facebook), reviews, YouTube videos and published itineraries. These are public only if you make your page public.
- When you publish an itinerary, private details like flight numbers, confirmation numbers, costs and notes are removed, and dates become "Day 1, Day 2…".
Feedback
- What you write, the page you were on, your browser and screen size, any screenshot you add, and your email, so we can follow up and fix problems.
Page views
- For creators, we count how many times a public page or itinerary is viewed or copied each day. Only the numbers are kept, never who viewed it. Your browser keeps a small note so the same visit is only counted once a day.
We don't use advertising, analytics or tracking cookies, and we never sell your information. The only things stored in your browser are what's needed to keep you signed in and that once-a-day view note.
3. How we use it
- To run the site: save and show your trips, share them with the people you choose, and show your creator page.
- To add helpful details: maps, travel times, weather, ideas nearby, exchange rates and double-booking warnings.
- To read bookings you paste, when you ask it to.
- To send emails about your account, like confirming your email address or resetting your password.
- To answer your feedback, fix problems and keep the site secure.
4. Who we share it with
We use trusted services to run the site. They only get what they need for their job:
- Supabase stores accounts, trips and uploaded pictures, and sends sign-in emails.
- Vercel hosts the website.
- Google Maps Platform provides place searches, maps, photos, travel times and time zones. It receives the places and addresses you search for or plan, not your name or email.
- Anthropic (Claude) reads the booking emails, PDFs, screenshots and cruise itineraries you choose to paste, and turns them into plans. This only happens when you use those buttons. Under Anthropic's commercial terms, this content isn't used to train its AI models.
- Open-Meteo provides weather forecasts, using the locations of your plans.
- Frankfurter provides exchange rates. No personal information is sent.
- YouTube plays videos on creator pages, using its privacy-enhanced mode. YouTube's own privacy policy applies when you play a video.
- People you choose: the people you share a trip with, and anyone, for a creator page you make public or an itinerary you publish.
- When the law requires it, for example a valid request from police or a court.
Some of these services store or process information outside Australia, including in the United States and Europe. We choose services that protect information to a high standard.
Links to other sites, like airlines, hotels, Google Flights or booking sites, take you to sites with their own privacy policies. Some links may earn us a small commission if you book; we'll always say so.
5. How long we keep it
- We keep your information while you have an account. You can delete any plan or trip at any time.
- You can delete your account in Account settings. This removes your account, trips, plans, creator page, reviews, videos, published itineraries, view counts and feedback messages. Copies in our providers' backups are removed in the normal course of their backup cycles.
- Screenshots sent with feedback are deleted once we've looked into the problem, or straight away if you ask.
6. Your choices and rights
- You can see and change your information in the site at any time, make your creator page private, and stop sharing a trip.
- You can ask us for a copy of your information, to correct it, or to delete it, by emailing hello@travelstarmedia.com.
- If you're not happy with how we've handled your information, please tell us first and we'll do our best to fix it. In Australia you can also contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au. If you live in the UK or Europe, you can contact your local data protection authority.
7. Keeping it safe
Everything is sent over encrypted connections, each person can only reach their own trips (and trips shared with them), and you can turn on two-step sign-in for extra protection. No website can promise perfect security, so please use a strong password that you don't use anywhere else.
8. Children
You need to be 16 or older to create an account. Children's ages that parents add to a trip are only used to plan that trip, for example to fill in tickets and guests.
9. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. If the change is important, we'll let you know on the site or by email before it applies.
